John brings over two decades of experience in client advising, having joined Baird in February 2013, after moving from Smith Barney/Morgan Stanley where he began his career as a Financial Advisor. Before that, he served as a senior scientist and project manager for Environmental Services, Inc. in Destin, Florida.
John dedicates himself to managing the financial affairs of clients who either don’t have the time or access to Baird’s extensive resources. He takes a deeply personal and tailored approach to wealth management, combining advance planning, investment management, and close collaboration with your legal and tax advisors. John’s primary goal is to build genuine relationships with his clients, striving to make a meaningful difference in your life and the lives of your family.
John, a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, has been named a FORBES Best-in-State Wealth Advisor from 2021-2026. In 2020, On Wall Street recognized John as one of forty top advisors under age forty, and in 2018 and 2019 he was named one of FORBES America’s Top Next-Gen Advisors. John is an Eagle Scout, a graduate of Woodberry Forest School and Duke University and he earned a certificate from the McIntire Business Institute of the University of Virginia. Outside of the office, he is an active member of the local Woodberry and Duke alumni boards, receiving a 2015 Forever Duke Award for his exceptional volunteer service to Duke. John previously served on the Board of Directors for non-profit Freedom School Partners. In his spare time, he enjoys music, ACC athletics, fitness, and his beloved Irish Red and White Setter, Riley.
